Christopher Smith specialises in Leasehold Enfranchisement with an equal balance of lessor and lessee work and is a member of the Leasehold Valuers' Forum. He also specialises in the Party Wall Act, and is actively involved with Boundary Issues, Expert Witness, Town Planning Design and Development.

Christopher Smith (Dip Urb Est Man, FRICS) has been established in Lewisham since 1976. He qualified as a General Practice Surveyor in 1973 and was elected as an Associate of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1976, and a Fellow in 1988. 

He worked in the City for three years at Collier & Madge as Building and Valuation Surveyor, involved principally with Specification and Supervision of building works related to development and residential management, building survey dilapidations and Building Society Valuation.

In taking over South Eastern Estates, the family firm of estate agents and surveyors in Lewisham, in 1976, he commenced a 12-year role as Panel Valuer to the Gateway Building Society, which then merged with the Woolwich. He has specialised in building survey, architectural design, specification of building works, and commercial property valuation & rent review. Other principal areas of practice have included Part Wall Act, Boundary Issues, Subsidence investigation and reinstatement and Residential development. In the late 1980s he jointly set up Anthony Gover Surveyors Ltd, based in the Docklands and then de-merged as Anderson Gover in the early 1990s. After over 60 years on Lewisham High Street, the practice moved in 2014 to nearby Old Bank House, 363 Hither Green Lane.
